49ers Choose Their QB for First Game of Preseason

The 49ers are once again in QB limbo. The QB that they seemingly traded away their stock of first round draft picks for, Trey Lance, is getting the start against the Raiders today.

Last season, Lance earned the starting job but went down with an injury that had him sidelined for the rest of the 2022 season. Then came the prodigy of Brock Purdy. Purdy took over the 49ers offense and made a lasting impression on the franchise.

Looking in at Trey Lance, mentioned above, they gave up a haul to draft him with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. It’s going to be quite challenging for the Niners to just trade him away after that. Especially if Lance makes a name for himself during preseason.
