The 49ers traded QB, Trey Lance to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a fourth-round pick. The 49ers drafted Trey Lance in 2021 with the third round pick. The 49ers gave up so much for that third round pick, to be exact, they traded their 2021, 2022, and 2023 first round picks to the Dolphins for the third round pick.
Trey Lance's 49ers career certainly did not go as expected. In total, Trey Lance had 262 snaps, 4 starts, 8 games, he was injured in 2 starts, 56/102, 54.9%, 797 yards, 5 TD's, 3 INT's, and a 84.5 rating. Also, the 49ers paid Lance a total of $27.85M.
The trade to get the third overall pick to draft Trey Lance could very well go down as one of the worst trades in 49ers history. The Dallas Cowboys will have a QB for the future, and it's going to be exciting to see how Trey Lance does with the Cowboys.
