New York Giants Season Preview

The New York Giants have been a laughing stock of the league for the last few seasons. Ever since their two Super Bowl wins in 4 years, the team just has not put a winning product on the field. That was until last season.

The Giants started off by hiring a new GM in the form of Joe Schoen. After Schoen was hired, he made an immediate impact by bringing in a new head coach, Brian Daboll. These two have brought a new life to the fans that expected misery year after year.

In the pair's first season together, the Giants finished with a 9-7-1 record and even won a playoff game against the 13-4 Minnesota Vikings. Along with their first successful season, head coach Brian Daboll took home the NFL's Coach of the Year Award.

As the team gears up for their 2023-2024 season, there is some new faces. First, the Giants brought in TE Darren Waller via trade with the Las Vegas Raiders. Additionally, WR Paris Campbell, ILB Bobby Okereke, and CB Leonard Johnson were the big name free agents they brought in.

Moving into their re-signings, they extended QB Daniel Jones and DT Dexter Lawrence to new 4-year contracts. Their star LT Andrew Thomas was extended with a new 5-year deal. Finally, their last extension came in the form of RB Saquon Barkley, who him and the team had disputes regarding his extension.

The last piece of this Giants team comes from their successful draft class. Their first three picks in this year's draft could not have gone better for Big Blue. CB Deonte Banks, WR Jalin Hyatt, and C John Michael Schmitz headlined the Giants draft.

This 2023-2024 New York Football Giants team has the makings of a breakout season. However, the powerhouses of the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles stand in their way. Their tough schedule certainly puts them at a disadvantage as well. On the other hand, the Giants are a young and hungry team led by one of the best GM-HC duos in the game. There's really no telling how far this Giants team could go.
