This NFL off-season has seen one reoccurring trend. That's been running backs and their respective teams having contract disputes. Saquon Barkley and the Giants, Jonathan Taylor and the Colts, and Josh Jacobs and the Raiders.
This specific situation has now had the same outcome as the Giants and Barkley, with a new contract. Yesterday, the Raiders and Josh Jacobs came to agreement on a new one-year deal that will earn Jacobs up to $12 million.
Jacobs has been one of the best running backs in the league over the last few seasons and it was time for him to get paid. Jacobs rushed for 1653 yards last season with 12 touchdowns and was a force for that Raider offense. This topic will be brought back up as these top running backs settled for one-year deals and are set to be paid again next off-season.
