The 49ers May Have Found Themselves a Franchise Kicker
The 49ers drafted Kicker Jake Moody in the 3rd round, pick 99. It's uncommon for teams to draft a kicker that early in the draft, but the San Francisco 49ers we're looking for a kicker in the draft, and they certainly found a good one in Jake Moody.
Jake Moody's first spring training has gone great. In one practice, Jake Moody kicked two 60-yard field goals, and made both of them. In that same practice, he made all the other ones he kicked.
In another practice, Moody made a big 58-yard FG. A couple minutes later, he pounded a 60-yard FG that hit the back of the fence. Source says, it would've been good from 66 yards. David Lombardi says, Moody's succes on long FG's has been consistent all training camp.
The San Francisco 49ers we're really searching for a kicker with their last year's kicker, Robbie Gould leaving. From training camp, it certainly sounds like Jake Moody will really succeed in the NFL. If you're a 49ers fan, you should be excited about Jake Moody.
