This Giants CB’s Decision Made Them Stronger Heading into the Season

Yesterday, CB Darnay Holmes made it known that he is taking a pay cut to remain with the New York Giants, per Dan Duggan of The Athletic. The Giants CB has been with the team since 2020, the year he was drafted by New York in the 4th round.

Holmes has been a solid contributor to the Giants secondary, compiling 72 tackles in 38 career games. The Giants have only been getting better on defense and have brought in some veterans to help out the young guys a bit. Holmes will likely benefit from this as well as being in Wink Martindale's system.

This move benefits Big Blue in more than one way. Staying with the team allows Holmes to flourish into what he was drafted to be and gives New York some more wiggle room when it comes down to the financial side of the NFL. Pay cuts are a rarity in today's game and when it happens, it's appreciated by all pat
